Maybe by go to song when I want the ladies in the room to get off their butts and dance.

  • Sunglasses At Night – Corey Hart

I've always loved Corey Hart and this is a great party jam because it brings that cool, retro '80s vibe everyone loves! Its synth-heavy sound and mysterious lyrics add a fun, edgy flair. Plus, who doesn’t love the idea of rocking sunglasses indoors and dancing like it’s the coolest thing ever?

  • How You Remind Me – Nickelback

I know... say what you will about Nickelback (I've never understood the grief these guys get) but this song always seems to work for me. End of the night... right age group. Solid song for a party.

Birthday Bash Songs for 40th, 50th & Cooler

When I'm DJing a birthday party I like to scan the crowd, see what they are likely to enjoy and play it. That simple. I live in Burlington and I've DJ'd all over Southern Ontario and when ever I'm hired to play a 40th or 50th Birthday Bash I like to play as many old school songs as I can. I don't want to use the word nostalgia but I just did. These are songs that we grew up with and love and EH! They're Canadian. WE gotta love our Canadian Musicians.

And before I get some hate mail... Obviously I play "Summer of 69" by Bryan Adams... I mean I just about play that song every night I DJ. It's the best of the best.

When DJing a birthday bash, it's important to gauge the crowd and play what they'll enjoy. As a DJ based in Burlington, I've rocked parties all over Southern Ontario, particularly 40th and 50th celebrations. I love incorporating old-school Canadian rock songs for that touch of nostalgia and hometown pride. Speaking of classics, you can't go wrong with Bryan Adams' Summer of 69 – a timeless favourite that always gets the crowd going. Keep the party alive!
